Dance has been an integral part of my life since I was a small child. I found such joy and freedom within it that I was hooked from the early age of three. Looking back, what I now see is that through dance, I found an inner calm, stillness, and an ability to connect with the universe as a whole.

Christmas 2005 newsletter

Released : Dec 1, 2005
End of year update and dates for the first part of 2006

Welwyn Hatfield Complementary Practitioners Group - December 2005

The Christmas break is almost upon us and I should like to take this opportunity of sending out the warmest wishes to all members of WHCPG and of course their families, friends, colleagues and clients throughout the wider community. Special thoughts we send also through our Group to all those who may be ill or suffering in any way at this time - may everyone experience peace and joy through the year ahead.

You may have noticed that we have not produced a newsletter for quite a while. This is because the committee has simply not had the capacity to do so in the light of other more pressing priorities - the main one being the new website - due to be launched in March 2006. As you will appreciate, this is a major undertaking and we have filled the recent “newsletter gap” with emails to members as and when we have had information to share.

The new website is going to include a section for news and events - to which everyone will be able to contribute. However, until it is up and running we shall be continuing to send out emails to members as we have been doing. Please note therefore, that whenever you have details of events, courses, articles etc that may be of interest to other members, please send them to either Libby or Jill on the committee, as they lead on communications:

libby-callaway@btinternet.com or jill.preston11@ntlworld.com

Monthly Meetings - Overview

We’ve had a wide selection of talk topics this year at our monthly get-togethers and have really enjoyed the input from all the speakers - I’ll recap on these in the lead-up to the AGM in April.

We have welcomed a number of visitors throughout the year and it’s lovely to see the growing numbers of members who have also been able to attend.

To state the obvious, I feel that it goes with our territory as complementary practitioners that there will always be a proportion of our members at any given time who are unable to get along to meetings on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, due to work commitments or whatever. Although there are other events which members can hopefully attend during the year, please don’t ever hesitate to contact me or any of the committee to keep in touch and catch up with anything of particular interest. Indeed, although we have been including short write-ups of the monthly talks in our emailing service mentioned above, our ability to keep in touch with eachother and our wider community as a whole will be considerably enhanced through the new website, which in turn will heighten the benefits for everyone on the occasions when we are all able to meet in person.

The guiding focus is on our each doing what we can, when we can and in whatever way(s) that we can. And with no pressure on anyone - well, that’s the ideal we’re aiming for, anyway! Pass me the chocolate digestives.

‘Which brings me to the committee, all of whom I thank from the bottom of my heart for being such a joy to work with and to be with: Ann, Diana, Jill, Libby, Margaret and Mary. Not to mention all the hard work they have done this year on behalf of the Group.

I also thank from the bottom of my stomach Jean and Marian who have tirelessly taken care of all the refreshments at every meeting during the year. Very well done and thank you on behalf of everyone.

Future Monthly Meetings:

All meetings held as usual on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at

St. Bonaventure’s Church Hall, WGC

Any input you may like to email Sue for the Jan & Feb meetings will be most welcome, especially if you will not be able to attend in person

11 January 06

A winter evening of rest and renewal

We will simply gather together to give eachother the space to receive and give (seated) treatments (with no pressure to either give or receive) and to chat over refreshments through the evening - which will end at 9pm. At the beginning of the evening there will be an opportunity for us each to share something if we wish to: it might be a thought or a personal or business aim we may have for 2006, it might be an article, a book or some internet research that we have found really useful/interesting/inspiring, it might be news of an event etc, it might be a packet of chocolate digestives … or whatever. If you’d like to bring along a few nibbles/ Christmas food leftovers that would be great.

8 February 06

A winter evening on how to market your business

Once again we will simply gather together to share experiences, thoughts, ideas and information on anything to do with business marketing - with a longer term view of potentially setting up regular advice slots at meetings on e.g. accountancy, the internet, etc.

Refreshments through the evening - meeting ends 9p.m.
