Dance has been an integral part of my life since I was a small child. I found such joy and freedom within it that I was hooked from the early age of three. Looking back, what I now see is that through dance, I found an inner calm, stillness, and an ability to connect with the universe as a whole.

On Sunday, 16th March 2008 the Welwyn Hatfield Complementary Practitioners’ Group are holding an event at Campus West in Welwyn Garden City, when members of the public can come and talk to practitioners, have taster treatments and listen to talks on complementary health related subjects and watch/participate in demonstrations. The main purpose of this event is to support our members by giving them the opportunity to promote themselves to a wider audience and spread the word about the group and our website. To enable us to do this the committee have decided to invest in the hire of the centrally located and well known venue of Campus West. This is your event and you will be given priority in the booking of stands, space to give treatments and a room set aside for an ongoing programme of talks. We will be inviting people whose businesses do not conflict with members’ interests, such as suppliers of organic products, to take stands but at a higher rate than members. We will be charging visitors a £3 entry fee and entering their names in a prize draw. We want to involve members from the beginning, and one decision we have to make is what to call the event. We are therefore asking you to suggest names. We are trying to avoid making this a ‘women only’ event and therefore the words ‘indulgence’ and ‘pamper’ may be not be appropriate. We need a name which sounds interesting and exciting and which will appeal to people of both sexes and all ages and which you would feel happy to promote. The main themes we want to promote are health, well-being and relaxation. When we have received your suggestions the committee will choose the one which we believe represents the majority of members’ interests. We will produce posters and flyers to advertise the event, in addition to promoting it through the local press. We look forward to what we are sure will be a very worthwhile and successful promotional event. Kind regards Jill Preston, Committee Member for Member Communications
